Michelle Zee
Born in Queens, New York in 1992, Michelle Zapata aka Michelle Zee was raised by Native Colombian parents who grew up listening to salsa, tango, and other latin music. Her older brothers introduced her to the world of Hip Hop / R&B / Pop and that's when she fell in love. She didn't realize she could sing and write songs until she was about 10 years old. But she kept it to herself, only exploring her talent when she was alone or in the shower because she was so shy. Over the years, she gained more and more confidence in her music and continues to grow and surprises herself each time. Her music speaks her soul and her voice sings from a sweet spot deep in her heart. Not only a singer and a rapper, Michelle just graduated from the Institute of Audio Research and has her certificate in audio engineering/music production. Michelle plans to produce/ engineer and mix her own music and other artist's as well . On the verge of something amazing, Michelle Zee is well on her path to success. While one day working at Guitar Center in down town Brooklyn NY, Michelle met Shakir Al-Saladin who was searching for a female lead singer, Shakir saw Michelle and started a conversation with her and asked her if she could sing? Michelle played some of her tracks she had produced & engineered and Shakir was flooded and amazed at Michelle's singing style and rappering and engineering skills. Shakir knew right away he had to get Michelle to become the lead singer/rapper for the group he was putting together called Mixcelplex. Michelle agreed to join the group and is now lead/background singer and rapper for the group. Along with the outstanding style of lead rapper Brian Rivera and the amazing talents and vocals of newcomer to the group Robbie Blake this group is destin to take music to a new level. Shakir has also appointed Michelle as lead engineer at Mixcelplex recording studio where the group is currently recording their upcoming album entiled Mixcelplex..
